BP finds major gas field in New Mexico’s San Juan Basin

BP, which is moving its headquarters for its Lower 48 division from Houston to Denver in 2018, announced Aug. 7 that it’s hit a highly productive field in New Mexico’s San Juan Basin.

Early production rates on the horizontal well in northeastern New Mexico, called the NEBU 602 Com 1H, “are the highest achieved in the past 14 years in the San Juan Basin,” the company said in a statement.
