Longtime Rodeo Houston announcer dies

Bill Bailey, a longtime announcer for the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, has died, according to media reports and a statement the rodeo posted on Twitter.

He was 78, according to the reports.

Bailey had been a rodeo announcer since the 1980s and retired in November 2015. At the time, he said he was stepping down for health reasons. Bailey talked to the Houston Business Journal shortly after his retirement. Click here to read the interview.
