Texas Senate approves ‘bathroom bill,’ sends it to House

The Texas Senate gave final approval to a slew of bills in the morning hours of July 26, including the controversial “bathroom bill,” sending them to the House for deliberation during this legislative special session.

Senate Bill 3, which would force public school children and people in government buildings to use the bathroom that matches their birth certificate or ID, drew an eight-hour debate before senators approved it 21-10, the Texas Tribune reports.
