Latest effort to ease Heights dry zone rules focuses on restaurants, bars

Residents in the Heights’ now somewhat-dry zone could get another chance to change the rules this November.

The Houston Chronicle reports that the Houston Heights Restaurant Coalition has applied for a petition focused on making it easier to sell alcohol at restaurants and bars. The petition would need signatures from about 1,500 eligible residents of the dry zone by mid-July to get the measure on the November ballot.
