Anadarko to sever 1-inch gas lines at 3,000 Colorado wells following fatal explosion

Anadarko Petroleum Corp. on May 16 detailed for the first time the steps it’s taking to inspect thousands of wells in the wake of the fatal Firestone, Colorado, home explosion on April 17 that killed two men.

Among the steps: The Woodlands-based Anadarko (NYSE: APC) will permanently disconnect all underground 1-inch natural gas flow lines for all of the more than 3,000 vertical wells it owns and operates in northeastern Colorado’s Denver-Julesburg Basin.
