Mayor Turner proposes 2018 budget to close deficit of more than $120M

Mayor Sylvester Turner delivered his proposed budget for fiscal year 2018 to Houston City Council on May 9.

The proposed budget closes a deficit of more than $120 million, according to a May 9 press release. That was accomplished through $72.8 million in one-time solutions and $50.5 million in recurring improvements, primarily consisting of spending reductions.
