Houston-based ConocoPhillips is selling about $3 billion in assets near the Four Corners region to another Houston-based energy company in its second multibillion-dollar sale in less than a month.

ConocoPhillips is selling the San Juan Basin assets to Hilcorp San Juan LP, a partnership between Houston-based Hilcorp Energy Co. and Washington, D.C.-based private equity firm The Carlyle Group (Nasdaq: CG), according to a release.
