Texas Gov. Greg Abbott is deploying state money and other resources to the Houston area to combat what he called a “recent wave of senseless violence.”
The move was made in response to rise and “brutality” of gang-related violent crime around Houston and Harris County, according to an April 10 press release from the Office of the Governor.
